Whatever do you do when your husband threatens the existence of your precious label maker? Well label more things of course. Yes, I've tried to put a label on him and the cat when they were sleeping. Didn't go well.

As I approach my upcoming knee surgery and the horrors of fixing the perfectly organized closet after 8 to 12 weeks on crutches last time around - let's make some closet rod organization dividers.

Lets gather some supplies:

1 Label Maker of choice

Old binder dividers (I used heavy paper dividers)

Scissors

Pencil

I was able to get 2 dividers per binder divider. They are 8.5 tall and about 3 inches wide.

Step 1:

Using a craft ruler or another divider edge for a straight edge draw your closet dividers.

I carefully cut mine out around the 3 ring hole punch to avoid having the holes in my finished project but isn't necessary.

Step 2:

Cut your dividers out of the dividers (pun intended).

STEP 3:

Bust out the label maker and break down your closet sections.

Common categories: T-shirts, Sweaters, Jeans, etc... Make as many or as few categories as you like.

I label my dividers prior to cutting the center hole to ensure the hole isn't too high or low.

STEP 4:

Cutting out the center.

Using something small and round such as a milk jug lid or TP roll - trace a circle about 1.5 inches below your top edge and about a inch under the label - but do measure 1 test divider to ensure the top over the hole will move freely under any shelving. Failing to measure could result in having to go back and cut the hole taller

Step 5:

Your dividers are done unless you need to tweak them to fit. Make extra to what you think you may need as you may find new categories as you organized. They can be set aside for quick fix if any need replacing with use.

STEP 6:

Organize your closet.

Welcome to my NOT Pinterest worthy closet.

It works for us and its organized.

For me it's more important to have a good system and organization over pretty.

While I'll definitely do pretty when possible.

STEP 7:

Enjoy your new pretty organized closet and have fun!
